Viscous Variation

Description

A definite R belongs to this one. Looks pretty mellow from the ground, but the low angle can fool you. Gear is shallow, thin, few and far between. Think of it as a badly protected easy highball problem. Only it's not easy!

Easily toproped by leading most of the first pitch of the Regular Route and clipping the chains you pass. Helps for toprope to have some long slings to extend rope over the edge.

Location

15' to the left of the Regular Route, just look up and see if you can see somewhere, anywhere for pro.

Protection

Gear to 1", nuts, offset nuts, and tricams helpful. Good anchors at the top.
