Patterson's Pitch

This is a two pitch, beginner sport route developed by Tiffany Blount and Lam Thuy Vo. This is a 5.6, generously bolted sport climb with 13 bolts + 2 anchor Mussy hooks on the first pitch and 12 bolts and 2 anchor Mussy hooks on the 2nd pitch. This route is at the right side of the crag’s base.

There’s a tricky roof on the first pitch that may feel cruxy for new climbers.

The second pitch is a breeze with a beautiful view. Pitch 2 is rated as a 5.3 or 5.4.

History: Mary Jane Patterson was the first African American woman believed to have received a bachelor’s degree in the United States in 1862 at Oberlin College.

This climb is on the right side of The Classroom. There is an obvious rock at the base of the climb along with a belay pad. Follow the bolts.
