Bearly Got It

Description

Sport route that takes on the Bear's Den roof in dramatic fashion.  A demanding crux sequence that requires two hand-matches, while cutting left across the underside of the roof.  If you get it right, and find some footing, you'll mount the lip of the roof and find the escape holds.   Like a boss!

It should be noted, this route was established ground-up, and as such it may or may not have a bolting sequence that matches the normal expectations of a sport-route.  In other words, there's a significant gap before getting clipped into the key roof bolt.  You'll be exposed above a ledge with your previous bolt at/below your feet.  A cam or passive could be used to mitigate this difficult sequence.  Retro-bolting this section is a possibility.

Location

Left side of the Bear's Den wall.  Look for a blocky scramble below a bolt at the bottom of a little alcove/ramp with the roof looming overhead.

Protection

4 bolts? Maybe bring a piece to close the gap getting the key bolt clipped.
