- Edit (TBD)
Description
This is the first route here. It is also on the north buttress of the Dawn Wall and is probably the first of many. The line is right of the obvious dihedrals (going up after some death blocks are trundled). Start at the first bolt on slab to a second bolt at a slight bulge and go left to a short arching crack. Work your way back right to a finger crack reaching the right side of the dihedrals.
Location
Walk along unofficial trails east from Phoenix Street for 2.5 miles below the Gibson Peak Ridge. The trail we found is heading SE where we left it for the Dawn Wall. The original description gets you here. If you don't find the final extension, look for Easter Island and bushwhack below Easter Island, it's ok walking but bring gloves to break trail.
Dawn Wall's North buttress: 34.20957, -111.26621 at altitude of 5470'
Protection
two bolts, lots of nuts, single #00 C3 to # .5 Cams, lots of small to medium nuts, and a single #3 Camalot for the start.Ring anchors.
