Left Arete

This problem ascends the left boulder of the

Squirming Coil Area

. Do a low start matched on a right-leaning sidepull and with your feet on the low angle slab to the left. Move to the diagonal crack, and continue straight up the chalked arete until you can top out.

by Phillip Benningfield and Matt Samet as a V2 for not using the low grey slab on the left. In this case, I choose for the left block to be usable and is being added so it can be enjoyed in its own right.

This problem is on the left of the two large boulders that make up the

Squirming Coil Area

, and starts same as

Contrivance

but goes straight up the left arete.

A crashpad. The landing is flat, but as you get higher, you move left over the slab on the left.
