Too Short to Ride

FA J. Thompson 3-2021
CREATED
UPDATED

Description

This is a tall problem featuring a technical crux down low and a mental crux up high. The technical crux requires figuring out how to get from the starting rail to a good crimp that’s up and left. It might be easier if you’re tall. This problem could be done from a stand start using the aforementioned crimp and a gaston at around V3ish.

Location

SDS on the left side of the face directly below the prominent ledge that’s about 15’ up. Match hands on the waist high right leaning rail to start, then climb up and a little left next to the corner on crimps and pockets. Once the ledge is gained move to the right several feet to avoid some loose rock guarding the topout.

Protection

2-3 crashpads, spotters optional. The topout is pretty high and several TV sized boulders occupy the LZ.
