Description

The climb follows a zigzagging steep crack on a perfect orange granite face above the highway. Protection is bomber and jams get better the higher you get. There is a lovely picture of Cassiopeia on the front cover of the current Sonora Pass Highway guidebook (Young/Dawson, 2nd edition). Two bolts anchor to do laps...

Location

The South-facing crack will be obvious when you approach the toe of the buttress. Stay on the left side of the gully.

Protection

Gear up to 3 inches
