Description
Bluff Banter moves a bit back and forth, from side to side, as the line works a path to the anchors below a large cedar tree. The climb starts easy and turns a bit more technical with the more vertical face above. Feel free to stay just right of the bolts or left for a different crux feel 3/4 of the way up the line. Climb past the last bolt for an easier, juggy finish. Rap chains provide an easy rappel.
Location
Worked and cleaned by Amy Reed and Marcus Floyd, this line of bolts is one of the first routes you see on the Vineyard Wall when approaching from the stairs along the base trail. Hiking southward from the step, head past Bee Hive, then eventually arriving at the south end of Legacy Wall. The Vineyard Wall starts as a protruding slab just 40 ft left of the route Bolts Gone Wild. Head slightly around the slab until the wall begins to appear more vertical.
Bluff Banter starts by ascending past a couple bolts to gain a ledge at the base of the main vertical section of the climb. The obvious cedar tree above the route can help with the identification of the start and finish.
