- Edit (TBD)
The Left Crack
Description
This problem starts in the same cave as
Part of a Warmup Traverse
. Instead of climbing out right (southwest) as
Part of a Warmup Traverse
does, climb the left-leaning crack directly above the cave.
Start in the cave, make your way out, and move up and over the tiered blocks following the main crack. Either downclimb V-easy to the left of the problem or continue up to a topout. For the topout, walk off to the northeast which allows a short downclimb to get to the base of the problem.
This problem was called "The Left Crack, V0" in
Colorado Bouldering: Front Range
by Benningfield and Samet. If there's a more accepted name, let me know and I'll update. I enjoyed this in its own right and thus have added it.
Location
This problem starts as with
Part of a Warmup Traverse
, which is directly behind (west) of The Cube, which has
Breashear's Crack II
on its northwest face and
Done Deal Dyno
on its southeast face.
Per
jmapping
: this is left of
Offwidth
.
Protection
A crashpad. The landing is great, but due to constant, left-leaning angle of the crack, the end at the top is a full pad length left of the start.
