What's Beef?

Description

Surmount a cheater block stack to reach the lowest pockets in a bizarre swath of dark varnish riddled with small pockets. Boulder steep moves with terrible feet for a couple of moves until the angle lessens and the pockets get larger. Clip a bolt (nice to stick-clip, but full-length stick-clip needed), and shuffle right on a ledge to the upper, left-facing corner. Some tricky moves with tips lead to the cool hueco-ed midsection, and a stiff crack finish. A good pitch, but marred with some Schnebly silt and guano.

Location

Just right of a fairly obvious, trodden "patio" at the base of the wall, which is the best hangout/staging area up here. Look for a bolt at roughly 12' and a very distinct pocket patch in dark varnish. The upper corner has an obvious black streak on the right wall.

Protection

1 bolt (1X) .1, .2 (2X) red C3, .3, .4, .5 (1X) .75, #1 Clip-and-lower anchors.
