- Edit (TBD)
Description
This is a very nice short introductory alpine route, good for a quick day if the weather doesn't look great.
The climbing is mostly 4th class, with a few sections of more technical climbing as you get higher. The difficulty doesn't ever exceed 5.2, but this route does require some route finding skills.
Location
Start in the Wolf's Head - Overhanging tower col. Head up the third class ledges until it's possible to climbing straight up just around the ridge, following the path of (almost) least resistance. The climbing is varied with easy scrambling and some sections of 5.2 climbing.
Descent: Downclimb -or- Two single-rope rappels down the NE ridge (be prepared with some webbing), then follow the 3rd-class North West ramps back down to the col (many cairns).
Protection
A light rack is fine. It's possible to simul-climb the entire route.
