- Edit (TBD)
Description
When you are looking to get away, just keep walking east and you'll likely have the rock to yourself. This is a solid friction climb with typical Stone Mountain bolt spacing.
P1 - 110' with 2 bolts and bolted anchors. Start just to the right of a Holly tree and just below 2 small, sloping flake features. Head straight up to a high first bolt (30-40'). The second bolt is generally straight up, then a slight angle back to the left going to the P1 anchors (Shared with Taken for Granite).
P2 - 100' with 2 bolts and bolted anchors. Move to the right off the anchors to the first bolt just 15' away. The second bolt is again generally straight up. The anchors will be out of sight from the second bolt but are located basically straight up about 40'. The line off the second bolt is likely to drift slightly right working around a short steeper head wall then slightly back left toward anchors which should now be in sight. Head straight up the steeper head wall if looking for more challenge. (Anchors shared with Taken for Granite)
P3 - 150' with no bolts and natural anchors. The grade is now easy, probably 5.5, and some may just walk off at this point. If wishing to stay protected, there is a small pine, plus a chock block that is up and slightly right to use for belay.
There is still a little more low grade, 5.0, walk off after P3.
Location
Walk east or climber's right across the south face until crossing a knoll where Grand Funk Railroad begins. As you head down to a gully, you will pass where the dikes of Grand Funk Railroad meet the ground, then a Holly tree. Saturday Night Live starts about 10' right of the Holly tree and just below some small, sloping flakes. The start is also 20' left of a water groove that is Brown Sugar route.
Protection
P1 and P2 has 2 bolts and bolted anchors for each, no place for gear. Gear or slings may be used for belay if desired at top of P3.
