MapFree Arc
Description
Meant to be freed with no pro or spotter. Side-winding nature of the route over uneven terrain precludes protection. Foothold assurance important.
Can be done 2 ways.
-
Start at the base arete and pull left following the beautiful upward left flaring eponymous arc. Face climb up over left side of ledge and traverse left on upper face approximately 8 feet. Then up and over the next upper left ledge, keeping to the face. Rating: V2
-
Same start as method 1, except stem off the rear rock and the face of the arc to the first ledge. The remainder of the route remains the same as method 1. Rating: V1
Location
Starts at the base of the Mini-Island's Northwest Arete.
Protection
None
